Driver Education Instructors
Part-time contract positions available in Morris, MB. In-class and in-car.
Steer your career and the future of road safety in the right direction! As a Driver Education Instructor, you will be responsible for teaching driver education to high school students in your area.
Responsibilities
- Schedule and deliver weekly classroom and/or in-car instruction.
- Administer course testing, including Class 5 Knowledge Test and vision screening.
- Manage student online progress and workload via Driver Education software.
- Maintain driver training vehicle.
Education
- Completion of high school.
- Instructor permit preferred (or willingness to acquire certification – training provided).
Requirements
- Manitoba resident.
- Valid Class 5F licence for at least three years.
- Satisfactory driving record.
- Satisfactory Criminal Record Check with Vulnerable Sector Search and Child Abuse Registry Check.
- Computer and/or smartphone with access to the internet.
- Excellent oral communication and interpersonal skills.
- Experience facilitating training/workshops in large group settings is preferred.
- Experience teaching or coaching youth is preferred.
- Professional driving experience is an asset.

VALLEY WEED CONTROL DISTRICT
WEED SUPERVISOR POSITION
The Valley Weed Control District Board (VWCDB) is accepting applications for a FULL TIME WEED SUPERVISOR and PESTICIDE APPLICATOR for the summer seasons (April – October).
Position is suited to students or persons looking for reliable work that may have experience operating equipment, using pesticides and working outdoors in an agricultural setting.
The Valley Weed Control District Board is a municipal organization consisting of the R.M. of Montcalm and the Town of Morris. The VWCDB is primarily involved in enforcing the Noxious Weeds Act through monitoring, mowing and herbicide application on properties and roadsides in the District.
DUTIES:
- Rural and urban weed control, monitoring and scouting
- Mosquito and grasshopper monitoring and control
- Monitoring weed control on private properties
- Operate weed control equipment and vehicle with sprayer.
- Contract management
- Keep daily records of all activities performed and prepare weekly and annual reports to the board, municipalities and province.
- Maintain the shop, tools, vehicles and equipment in safe and working order.
QUALIFICATIONS:
- Valid Manitoba Class 5 and Class 3 with air brake endorsement Driver’s License or willing to obtain.
- Must have a valid Pesticide Applicators License (Core & Rural Municipal).
- Strong & effective interpersonal, verbal and written communication skills and the ability to work with the public.
- Computer proficiency in processing documents and spreadsheets and operating e-mail software.
- Ability to operate equipment including an all-terrain vehicle with sprayer, Truck with spray equipment and other equipment as needed.
- Must be willing and able to work outdoors independently with minimal direct supervision.
- Willing to start work early in the morning and work overtime if necessary.
- Previous experience in equipment operation or pesticide application would be an asset.
- Mechanical skills would be an asset.
- Knowledge of weed identification and the use of herbicides would be an asset.
- Knowledge of the R.M. of Montcalm and Town of Morris areas would be an asset.
- Comprehensive Salary and Benefit package; wage range of $27.00 to $30.00 hourly

Morris Area Senior Services (M.A.S.S) is a non-profit organization seeking a Meal Coordinator for their Congregate Meal Program. The Congregate Meal Program assists to meet the nutritional and social needs of its senior participants. The meals are served tot hose 55 years and older (some exceptions may apply) The successful applicant will plan one month in advance, a meal program served daily to these participants.
We are looking for someone to prepare and serve nutritious meals while keeping a clean and sanitized work and eating area. We are looking for someone who takes pride in their work and has an eye for presentation, so that the quality of the food, and its visual appeal, will keep our participants coming back.
All those with a love for cooking are encouraged to apply! Training is provided. Must be a minimum of 18 years of age.
Responsibilities and Duties:
- Plan, prepare and serve savoury meals as well as desserts
- Stock and maintain product levels and purchase daily groceries
- Plan a monthly menu focusing on food variety and new recipes
- Understand, practice and enforce the highest standard of cleanliness and safest in relation to food storage, preparation, serving and cleaning up
- Rotate food stock weekly as part of inventory maintenance
- Encourage community members to participate; provide friendly and courteous service.
- Maintain accurate statistical records, financial records and make daily deposits ans submit quarterly reports
- Other duties may be required
Requirements:
- Ability to work while standing for long periods of time
- Must be team orientated and willing to work with volunteers
- Excellent verbal communication and organizational skills
- Interested in trying something new.
