Morris School Mission Statement:

Our Mission at Morris School is to work in cooperation with parents, school division and community to provide a risk-free environment where all students have the right and the responsibility to learn. Our focus will support:

  • Academic success
  • Social, emotional and physical needs of our students
  • Opportunities and encouragement to participate in a wide range of co-curricular activities.

Our school:

Morris School is situated in the Southern Part of the Red River Valley School Division. The school is located in the center of the Town of Morris. The student population consists of both town and rural students from Morris and the surrounding communities. Morris school currently serves a population of approximately 450 students from Kindergarten through Grade 12 including several vocational programs. The early years, middle years and senior years are housed in separate wings of the school. This enables the teachers in their areas to collaboratively plan and work in their grade level teams. At the same time, it is conductive to cooperative and partnering activities and events involving the entire school.

Our school offers specialist teachers with strong programs in Music, Physical Education, Languages, Resource, Technology, Autobody and Counseling. We offer a variety of extra curricular activities, excellent resources and community involvement. Technology, Differentiated Instruction and reading Recovery are integrated into the curriculum. We have 2 computer labs and every classroom is also equipped with computers. Throughout the school year, classes are scheduled into the Library to work with the classroom teacher and the librarian. The learning environment is stimulating, focusing on social, emotional, and academic growth. The staff is committed, caring and pro-active. A Life Skills room has been constructed for special needs students who are integrated within the classrooms. The school has collaborative support from the Psychologist, Social Worker, Speech and Language Clinician, Physiotherapist and occupational Therapist by referral through Student Services.
