Water & Sewer
The Town of Morris ensures safe, reliable, and efficient water supply and wastewater collection for residents. We are committed to providing high-quality drinking water and environmentally responsible sewer service.
Water Supply & Treatment
Morris purchases treated water from the Pembina Valley Water Co-op, which sources water from the Red River at the Morris Regional Water Treatment Plant. It’s stored in a 500,000-gallon reservoir and distributed safely throughout the town.
Water is disinfected using sodium hypochlorite to maintain a free chlorine residual of at least 0.10 mg/L throughout the system. Regular tests ensure treatment exceeds provincial standards.
Distribution System & Monitoring
A network of underground pipes delivers treated water to homes and businesses. Biweekly bacteriological sampling and chlorine residual measurements help monitor water safety. Immediate action is taken if chlorine levels fall below standard.
Emergency Alerts
For critical situations (e.g., boil-water advisories), the Town notifies residents via:
- Email/text alerts
- Town website and social media
- Door-to-door notices (when necessary)
Public Works staff are on call 24/7 to respond quickly.
Annual Water System Report
Our Annual Water System Operational Report provides transparency on water quality, treatment processes, and system performance.
Copies are also available at the Town Office for review.
