We’re committed to ensuring all residents and visitors have equitable access to Town services, spaces, events, and information—both online and offline.

Our Commitment

  • Inclusive Infrastructure: From accessible sidewalks to recreation facilities, the Town prioritizes barrier-free environments. We regularly adjust and improve public spaces to meet accessibility needs. 

  • Digital Improvements: In 2024, the Town received $49,749 in provincial funding to enhance website accessibility—including redesign for improved usability. 

  • Accessibility Planning: We maintain a multi-year Accessibility Plan, detailing ongoing efforts to remove barriers throughout the community. 

Legal Framework

As a Manitoba municipality, we align with the Accessibility for Manitobans Act (AMA), which mandates accessibility across key areas of daily life:

  • Customer Service (since 2015)

  • Information & Communication (since 2022)

  • Employment,

  • Transportation, and

  • Design of Public Spaces

We also follow Manitoba’s Accessible Customer Service Standard, ensuring respectful and effective service to individuals with disabilities.
